Research Description
Hadi Esfahani, Director of CSAMES, is a Professor of Economics and Business Administration. Dr. Esfahani is a distinguished scholar and educator in economics with a long and successful career at Illinois. His research focuses on theoretical and empirical issues in the political economy of development; the role of country institutions in the formation and reform of fiscal, trade, and regulatory policies, especially in the Middle East region. He has been a consultant to the World Bank on regulation in developing countries. He was previously CSAMES director from 2009 to 2011.
